Before you start
- A Windows computer or compatible VPS running MetaTrader 5.
- An MT5 broker account — preferably demo for your first setup.
- Your CrownX EA package.
- Your CrownX license details.
- The correct robot for the market you intend to use.
Step 1 — Install and log into MT5
Install MetaTrader 5, open it and connect to your broker account. For a first installation, use a demo account so you can confirm the robot loads and communicates correctly without risking real money.
Step 2 — Install the CrownX EA
In MT5, open the platform's Data Folder, then navigate to the Experts area under MQL5. Place the supplied CrownX EA file in the correct Experts folder. Restart MT5 or refresh the Navigator so the EA appears.
Step 3 — Open the intended market
Use the product on its intended market. Gold AI is intended for Gold/XAUUSD, Forex AI for supported currency pairs, and US500 AI for the compatible US500/S&P 500 broker symbol.
Step 4 — Attach CrownX and activate your license
Drag the CrownX EA from Navigator onto the intended chart. Enter the license information supplied after your access request is approved. Review the inputs before enabling automated trading.
Step 5 — Enable Algo Trading
MT5 must allow algorithmic trading for an Expert Advisor to execute. Confirm the global Algo Trading control is enabled and that the EA settings permit automated trading.
Step 6 — Observe before going live
Leave CrownX running on demo long enough to understand its status panel, trade frequency, risk behavior and how your broker reports symbols/spreads.
Common beginner issues
| Issue | Check |
|---|---|
| EA is visible but not trading | Algo Trading permissions, current market status, CrownX filters and whether a valid setup exists. |
| Wrong symbol | Your broker may use a suffix or a different index symbol name. |
| License error | Confirm the license details and the account/product allowed by that license. |
| MT5 stops overnight | The computer/VPS may be sleeping, offline or the terminal may have closed. |
